Kite-Balloon (Aerostat)

Lift your payloads hundreds of meters into the air — for days at a time. Data and power via tether. Looking for partners to integrate and test.

What is a Kite-Balloon?

A kite-balloon (also known as a kytoon or tethered aerostat) is a hybrid aerial platform that combines the buoyancy of a balloon with the aerodynamic lift and stability of a kite. These systems are tethered to the ground and can remain aloft for extended periods, making them ideal for applications such as environmental monitoring, communications, and observation. TALKON SPACE develops and manufactures advanced kite-balloons designed for high performance, durability, and versatility.

Performance Comparison

Tethered Drones

  • ✅ Quick deployment and compact form factor
  • ❌ Limited flight duration
  • ❌ Restricted altitude
  • ❌ Lower wind tolerance

TALKON Kite-Balloon Advantages

Compared to similar systems (e.g., Helikite, Aerobavovna):

  • Superior aerodynamics — ascends at 60–70° vs. typical 45°
  • Up to 4× lower wind-induced tether load
  • Manual or small electric winch deployment
  • Higher payload capacity for equivalent volume
  • Enhanced performance in strong wind conditions

Camera Stabilization

Conventional small kite-balloons are often unsuitable for camera platforms in windy conditions due to excessive vibration. We are currently developing a passive stabilization solution to ensure reliable imaging performance.
