Kite-Balloon (Aerostat)
Lift your payloads hundreds of meters into the air — for days at a time. Data and power via tether. Looking for partners to integrate and test.
A kite-balloon (also known as a kytoon or tethered aerostat) is a hybrid aerial platform that combines the buoyancy of a balloon with the aerodynamic lift and stability of a kite. These systems are tethered to the ground and can remain aloft for extended periods, making them ideal for applications such as environmental monitoring, communications, and observation. TALKON SPACE develops and manufactures advanced kite-balloons designed for high performance, durability, and versatility.
While tethered drones offer quick deployment and a compact form factor, aerostats excel in persistent operations:
Compared to traditional kytoons (e.g., Helikite, Aerobavovna).
Our kite-balloons are versatile platforms ready for your specific instruments. We are looking for partners to jointly integrate and test new payloads, from communication relays to specialized sensors.
As an example of our ongoing engineering efforts, we are currently testing a passive stabilization solution to ensure reliable imaging performance for camera platforms, solving the excessive vibration issues typical of conventional small kite-balloons in windy conditions.
